Suman Laha is a well known name in the Indian classical music community in Southern California. Suman comes from an artistically enriched family, his grandfather Late Shyam Laha was a well known Bengali film star of 50's and 60's. His grand uncle Late Nadu Mallick was an expert musician and craftsman, who created and maintained the musical instruments of world renowned musicians like Pandit Ravi Shankar and Ustad Ali Akbar Khan.

Suman was introduced to North Indian Classical Music by his grand uncle Late. Nadu Mallick. He then trained the purest Senia Gharana by the eminent Master, Pt. Shyamal Chattopadhyay, the disciple of Late Ustad Dabir Khan Sahib. Suman received the most ancient and traditional style of music training in Dhrupad style of vocal and instrumental music. Suman also studied under the tutelage of Ustad Aashish Khan, son of legendary sarode maestro Ustad Ali Akbar Khan.

Suman started his career in Indian classical music as a guitarist. He designed an instrument based on the concept of ancient Indian instrument Vichitra Veena. Suman has performed in prestigious musical conferences and concerts in many cities in India. Suman has extensively toured the European countries, performing in concerts, workshops and music festivals. He has performed at the Tagore center at Berlin (Indian Embassy) and D.I.G. concerts in various cities in Germany. He has also performed several times in Spain, Italy, France, Sweden, Denmark and other Europian countries. In the US, Suman has been performing in the concerts for musical organisations and universities and teaching Indian Classical music since 2001. As a music teacher Suman continues the old Indian tradition of 'Guru Shisya Parampara', an age old practice and one of the oldest method of teaching Indian music. He has been given music lessons to students all over the world during his tours. He has numerous students of all ages and occupations in greater Los Angeles, Arizona and Nevada. Suman teaching style and professional demeanor have endeared him to his students. Through his various upcoming concerts and regular music lessons, Suman continues his venture to propogate the tradition of Indian classical music among the music lovers and students.

Arup Chattopadhay is recognized today as one of the most outstanding and sought after tabla artists of the younger generation. As a premier disciple of world-renowned maestro Pandit (Pt.) Shankar Ghosh, Arup established himself as a topnotch accompanist as well as a formidable soloist. Arup's performance is admired for its tonal quality, crystal clear bols, and spontaneous sense of rhythm and melody. Arup began learning tabla at age six from his father, the eminent tabla player Shri Pankaj Chattopadhyay. He then came under the tutelage of Pt. Shankar Ghosh with whom he continues to train. Having achieved grade-A status as an artist, Arup's performances are broadcast on radio and TV throughout India.

Arup accompanied many of the leading musicians of India such as Pt. Ravi Shankar, Ustad Rais Khan, Ustad Aashish Khan, Ustad Shahid Parvez, Pt. Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, Pt. Kartik Kumar, Pt. Nayan Ghosh, Pt. Rajeev Taranah, Ronu Majumder, Ustad Nishat Khan, Pt. Ajay Chakarabarti, Lakhsmi Shankar, Pt. Rajan and Sajan Mishra, the late Pt. V.G. Jog, Pt. Manas Chakravarty, Pt. Arun Bhadhuri, Pt. Samaresh Choudhury, Pt. Satish Vyas, Tarun Bhattacharya, Tejendra Narayan Majumdar, Kushal Das, Niladri Kumar, Purbayan Chaterjee, Partha Bose, Partha Sarathi, and Debashish Bhattacharya.

Since 1998 Arup has been honored to accompany the living legend Pt. Ravi Shankar in tours throughout the US, Canada, Europe, and India, including performances in Carnegie Hall, Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center, in US, and Barbican hall in London. Arup toured U.K. with Pt. Deepak Choudhury several times, and toured US and Bangladesh with Tejendra Narayan Majumdar in events hosted by SRA. Since 1997 Arup toured US, Canada, Australia, and Mexico with the virtuoso sitarist Kartik Seshadri. Arup is also highly sought as a teacher of tabla. He was a professor of tabla at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan in London(Institute of Indian Culture). Since 1999 Arup has been a professor of tabla at the University of California San Diego.
