Subhamita Banerjee is arguably the best female voice in Kolkata today. A relatively new name in the field of Music, Subhamita has already gained immense popularity for her new Bengali Songs. Some of her songs has been rated among the top ten popular New Bengali Songs of the City.

Subhamita took her initial taleem from her father Sri Joshoda Dulal Das in North Indian Classical Music. Then she joined the prestigious Sangit Research Academy as a senior Scholar and took taleem from none other than Pt. Ulhas Kashalkar of the Jaipur Gwalior Gharana.

Subhamita Received National Scholarship from Government of India in 1992. She Stood first in the HMV Golden Talent Contest in 1993. She also became champion in the first "SA THEKE SA" competition - an immensely popular program telecast by E-TV Bangla.

Subhamita has quite a few albums to her credit. "ABISHKAR" was released in 2001 with new Bengali songs composed by the famous composer and performer Nachiketa."PHIRE DAKHA" was released in 2003 and "ICCHE PARI" was released in 2004. These albums have gained immense popularity and established Subhamita as a new female singer of NATUN BANGLA GAAN (New Bengali Songs). Her songs received rave reviews from musicians, music directors and music loving people of the city.

In last three years Subhamita has performed in more than fifty Tele-Serials and feature films. She has worked with all leading music directors of the City. She did playback singing in feature films Tin Ekke Tin, Mohul Bonir Sheren, Ekti Meye Tamashi and so on.

Subhamita has worked with many music directors such as Nachiketa, Kalyan Sen Barat, Amit Banerjee, Tanmoy Bose, Tejendra Majumder, Bappi Lahiri, Chiradeep Das Gupta, Jolly Mukherjee, Debajyoti Mishra, Debijit, and Tapan Sinha. She has performed many title songs in the serials of leading TV channels including Nagordola, E To Noi Sudhu Gaan, Bonhishikha etc.

Subhamita is a regular artist in multiple TV channels and FM radio in Kolkata. She has also performed many times in the USA and Canada.
