Sei Sur, play based on a short story by O'Henry, written by Somnath Choudhury
Sei Sur shows that a criminal intent does not always makes a person criminal.
The play takes place in a park where a young man, the protagonist of the drama, tries very hard to get arrested for petty crime and go to jail. He prefers the shelter of a jail cell rather than trying to stand on his own feet. However his attempts result in situations that are sometime funny and often poignant showing us various faces of the society we live in. The story slowly builds to a climax where the dilemma of life suddenly forces the young man to make some hard choices and overcome his weakness. But what are those choices and can he win the inner turmoil and overcome his weakness?

Nayika, directed by Arpita (Jhom) Banerjee
Heroines (Nayika) in Tagore's writings often present complex emotions. In Tagore's own words:
Woman is endowed with the passive qualities of chastity, modesty, devotion and power of self sacrifice in a greater measure than man is. It is the passive quality in nature which turns its monster forces into perfect creations of beauty - taming the wild elements into the delicacy of tenderness fit for the service of life.
A commemorative play for Tagore's 150th birthday, Nayika presents a number of Tagore's women from different socio-economic strata of life with different personalities. Each "Nayika", dressed in
periodic
costume, acts out a small part from Tagore's work.
Tagore's conscience or "Bibek" tells this story to the audience.
