Raghab Chatterjee is one of the leading singers in Kolkata today.
He not only enriched Bengali modern songs in Bengal's own style but added something more, being a torchbearer working on Fusion Music. His melodious voice with a strong Hindusthani classical base intermingles the flavors of West.
His Bengali hits 'Tomar katha bhebe amar' and 'Chand keno asena' are popular numbers in Kolkata's F.M. channels.
Raghab's musical journey started with a guitar at the age of 10. At age 20, he switched to vocal and trained in classical music under his mother Smt. Shila Chatterjee. He joined ITC Sangeet Research Academy where he trained under Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty and Ustad Rashid Khan. Raghab is a versatile singer who is equally adept in classical and modern music.
Raghab has rendered his voice to a number of playback songs in popular TV serials and films. He has delivered many hit numbers in movies like "Devdas", "Tere Naam", "Raincoat", "Parinita" in Hindi and "Bandhan", "Chokher Bali", "Suvodristi", "Chaturanga", "Patal Ghar" in Bengali. He has sung for popular TV serials such as "Ak Chilte Roddur" and "Kono Ak Din". Raghab has many hit albums under his belt such as "Bhorer Alo", "Tumi Nei Bole", "Amar Akash", "Shamiana", "Nameplate" in Bengali and fusion albums such as "Raaga Rocks", "Rishtaa" and "Bandish". He has been felicitated with many awards - RD Burman Award, Uttam Kumar Award, Salil Chaudhuri Award, winner of Golden Talent Contest/HMV to name a few. Over the last 15 years, Raghab has enthralled audiences in India , USA , Canada , UK and Hongkong with his golden voice.
