"Naakchhabita"
revolves around a woman (Janaki) who returns to her village (Mohonpur)
from where her father (Biplobi Bireshwar) was disowned by his greedy and characterless
father (RaiBahadur Baradaprasanna) to appease the British. Bireshwar's second wife
(Janaki's aunt) wants to patchup with her in-law and have a good life. Baradaprasanna
wants to use Bireshwar to win in the first ever general election in India. Kabyatirtha,
an immigrant from Bangladesh,
who admires Bireshwar breaks this 'bagbandi khela' to him. The conflict unfolds
thru desperate attempts at coercing and forcing Bireshwar to submit to the insatiable
ambitions of Baradaprasanna. This takes a toll on Nuku (chhotobelaar Janaki) and
she loses her mental balance. After forty years of recuperation will Janaki be able
to overcome the abyss that has darkened her life? Will life give her one more chance?
